Rebecca Simmons, Ph.D.

A Professor of the Practice in the Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science, Rebecca’s research themes include Energy Systems & Materials, Robotics & Autonomy. She received her B.S.E from Duke University in 2000, and her Ph.D. from Duke in 2004. She has won numerous awards throughout her career, including the Capers and Marion McDonald Award for Excellence in Mentoring and Advising, as well as the Klein Family Distinguished Teaching Award.
